We have counted on the support of more than 100 New York wineries to defeat these proposals in the past, and we need their help as much as ever. The State Legislature has rejected the Big Box stores efforts in each of the last two years, in large part because they heard from us in overwhelming numbers. We need to do it again. Click here to send a letter to your legislators urging them to stand firm with us. Again, get as many people as you can to send a message. If implemented, this change would devastate Mom-and-Pop wine stores and stunt the growth of small New York wineries, costing the state thousands of valuable middle class jobs. Additionally, the sale of wine in 19,000 new outlets would give teenagers greater access to high-alcohol products - resulting in a heightened risk of underage drinking and fatal drunk driving accidents.
